rollouts.candidate_support.comparison

Paired reductions for immutable candidate-family Phase-A evidence.

The reducer compares the same ordered source states and candidate geometry under two candidate-validity policies. It measures feasibility support only: gains in actor-valid rows or admission counts do not establish reconstruction quality, policy utility, or corpus admission.

1.1 Classes

Name Description
CandidateFamilySupportComparison Complete paired support reduction for two validated Phase-A artifacts.

1.1.1 CandidateFamilySupportComparison

rollouts.candidate_support.comparison.CandidateFamilySupportComparison(
    reference_artifact_sha256,
    challenger_artifact_sha256,
    reference_writer_config_sha256,
    challenger_writer_config_sha256,
    records,
    candidate_rows,
    reference,
    challenger,
    gains,
    losses,
    challenger_joint_gate_failures,
    family_support,
)

Complete paired support reduction for two validated Phase-A artifacts.

Candidate identity and proposal geometry must agree exactly and in order. The comparison measures actor-valid and selected final-shell support. Root floors and target-aware families come from the shared persisted preflight policy, so a caller cannot silently apply thresholds different from either artifact.

1.1.1.1 Attributes

Name Description
reference_artifact_sha256 Canonical content identity of the reference Phase-A artifact.
challenger_artifact_sha256 Canonical content identity of the challenger Phase-A artifact.
reference_writer_config_sha256 Scientific writer-configuration identity of the reference arm.
challenger_writer_config_sha256 Scientific writer-configuration identity of the challenger arm.
records Paired factual states.
candidate_rows Paired candidate rows across all factual states.
reference Reference-arm support counts.
challenger Challenger-arm support counts.
gains Rows whose actor-valid status changes from false to true.
losses Rows whose actor-valid status changes from true to false.
challenger_joint_gate_failures Challenger states missing at least one shared support floor.
family_support Per-family paired validity and zero-cell counts.

1.1.1.2 Methods

Name Description
to_payload Serialize the canonical presentation-free comparison result.
1.1.1.2.1 to_payload
rollouts.candidate_support.comparison.CandidateFamilySupportComparison.to_payload(
)

Serialize the canonical presentation-free comparison result.

1.2 Functions

Name Description
compare_candidate_family_support Compare actor-valid support on one exact paired candidate population.

1.2.1 compare_candidate_family_support

rollouts.candidate_support.comparison.compare_candidate_family_support(
    reference,
    challenger,
)

Compare actor-valid support on one exact paired candidate population.

Both inputs must already have passed the Phase-A content, source, revision, and preflight readback contract. This reducer additionally requires the same source population, preflight policy, ordered state identities, candidate identities, proposal geometry, and provenance. Missing or duplicated pairs fail instead of being dropped from the denominator. Proposal configuration, view-jitter lineage, target-relative geometry and record provenance must also match; writer validity-policy hashes may differ and are reported. Unknown family applicability is rejected, so support-floor counts never interpret missing provenance as satisfied admission. Zero-row configured families remain in the result. Target-aware selected support excludes the forward family and its floor applies only if a target-aware family is applicable, matching the canonical preflight policy. Both arms must have complete canonical population coverage; matching omissions cannot become a complete paired population.

Use read_candidate_family_phase_a with independently declared expectations to admit persisted inputs. This comparison does not inspect source stores or establish that an artifact’s recorded generation was physically reproduced.

1.2.1.1 Returns

Name Type Description
CandidateFamilySupportComparison A complete paired reduction. Counts describe proposal feasibility and
CandidateFamilySupportComparison persisted support admission only; they carry no reward-quality claim.
