1 oracle.pipelines.mac_generation_supervisor
oracle.pipelines.mac_generation_supervisor
Supervise one Mac recipe worker through existing queue locks and controls.
The launcher schedules bounded tranches and never modifies scientific inputs, receipts or successful outputs. It starts no worker on battery/unknown power, and only a power-origin pause may resume automatically on AC. Operator/resource pauses and terminal failures persist across launcher restarts.
1.1 Classes
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| MacGenerationSupervisorConfig | Absolute runtime identity and measured resource limits for one worker. |
1.1.1 MacGenerationSupervisorConfig
oracle.pipelines.mac_generation_supervisor.MacGenerationSupervisorConfig()Absolute runtime identity and measured resource limits for one worker.
1.1.1.1 Attributes
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| queue_path | Frozen primary queue, also the fleet-wide durable pause/resume control. |
| selector | Optional measured root/rollout policy; absent retains the one-queue supervisor. |
| python_executable | Absolute pinned environment interpreter used by every worker restart. |
| working_directory | Absolute package working directory, independent of login shell state. |
| state_root | Exclusive supervisor lock, status and durable stdout/stderr logs. |
| tranche_units | Maximum new terminal attempts per worker invocation. |
| poll_seconds | Resource and durable-control observation interval in seconds. |
| restart_backoff_seconds | Minimum wait after a complete tranche or transient launch error. |
| shutdown_grace_seconds | Measured maximum wait for the active unit before forced interruption. |
| minimum_free_memory_percent | Commissioned system-wide free-memory floor reported by memory_pressure. |
| max_staging_gib | Maximum retained incomplete staging bytes; quarantine/output remain counted by queue admission. |
| free_disk_floor_gib | Supervisor reserve checked before launch and throughout each active tranche. |
1.2 Functions
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| launch_agent_plist | Build a user-scoped launchd definition; installation remains explicit. |
| mac_free_memory_percent | Read memory_pressure’s system free percentage, without allocating load. |
| mac_power_source | Read local macOS power; unavailable observations fail admission closed. |
| main | Run a configured supervisor or export a reviewable launch-agent plist. |
| request_supervisor_control | Explicitly pause/resume the primary control and admitted host-owned work. |
| resource_pause_reason | Admit only measured healthy local resources; do not guess unavailable RAM. |
| run_supervisor | Run one owned queue at a time, reconciling locks before each restart. |
1.2.1 launch_agent_plist
oracle.pipelines.mac_generation_supervisor.launch_agent_plist(
config_path,
config,
*,
label,
)Build a user-scoped launchd definition; installation remains explicit.
A clean paused/failed exit is not restarted by launchd. Unexpected supervisor death is throttled and restarts into the same lock/control reconciliation.
1.2.2 mac_free_memory_percent
oracle.pipelines.mac_generation_supervisor.mac_free_memory_percent()Read memory_pressure’s system free percentage, without allocating load.
1.2.3 mac_power_source
oracle.pipelines.mac_generation_supervisor.mac_power_source()Read local macOS power; unavailable observations fail admission closed.
1.2.4 main
oracle.pipelines.mac_generation_supervisor.main()Run a configured supervisor or export a reviewable launch-agent plist.
1.2.5 request_supervisor_control
oracle.pipelines.mac_generation_supervisor.request_supervisor_control(
config,
action,
)Explicitly pause/resume the primary control and admitted host-owned work.
Active workers observe the primary request and propagate its origin to their own canonical controls. Resume is an operator action, never inferred from AC return; it does not launch computation by itself. Pause persists the primary/root requests before inspecting secondary endpoints and returns unavailable paths. Resume validates reachable ownership first and requests only paused controls; already-running queues are an idempotent no-op.
1.2.6 resource_pause_reason
oracle.pipelines.mac_generation_supervisor.resource_pause_reason(
config,
*,
queue_root,
)Admit only measured healthy local resources; do not guess unavailable RAM.
1.2.7 run_supervisor
oracle.pipelines.mac_generation_supervisor.run_supervisor(config)Run one owned queue at a time, reconciling locks before each restart.
No PID discovered in old status is ever signalled. Shutdown signals and resource transitions address only the subprocess created by this invocation. The first signal requests a boundary stop; the grace deadline sends a second signal so the recipe runner interrupts its own worker and retains staging.
